The Rolet Family farms and bottles their own wines, they farm Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir. Jura is a region next to Burgundy, in the start of the mountain range 'the alps' That region has been recently under the spot light, as the wines were unknowned from the rest of the world. They are highly appreciated now, especially for the history of that region in wine, but also due to their Jurassic limestone soils, and unknown local grape varieties, we are getting high demand for those wines.
This 100% Poulsard, is a delightful lighter red from 50+yo vines. It is precise and lively. With some hibiscus on the nose, there is an underlying complexity that grows and coats the palate as the wines evolves in the glass, dominated by freshly picked cherries and redcurrant. The fruit was de-stemmed and aged in stainless steel, preserving its primary fruit characters. This can be served slightly chilled.
