The Sutton Grange creed has always been to act and make decisions based on “the best interest of the farm”. Winemaking is no different. Melanie Chester, the young and dynamic chief winemaker leads the team to create wines that are the best expression of the Sutton Grange farm, pushing the boundaries of the property. They market under two ranges, Fairbank and Estate wines. Fairbank, the name of the property in the 1800s, contains a portfolio of wines with freshness, brightness, and vibrancy. The Estate range reflect outstanding Central Victorian wines including a collection of lesser known varieties that allow its portfolio to create wines that reflect its motto to “Stand Alone”.
This Field blend is made with 60% Fiano and 40% Viognier, it's a lively wine with punchy aromatics of orange peel, exotic fruit and lemongrass, with fragrant notes of ginger and jasmine spice. The palate is fleshy with heaps of orange and stone fruit, balanced with a lemon butter generosity in the mid palate. The finish is vibrant and crunchy from the bright natural acidity and chalky phenolics.
Enjoy it cold with dumplings and spicy foods. yum!
