Stunning Cru Beaujolais from Marcel & his daughter Carine Joubert. This family owned winery is on its fifth generation of winemakers with 10 hectares of organic vines. Marcel (Carine's father) started making minimum intervention wines in the 80's after meeting the pioneer of natural wines in Beaujolais, Marcel Lapierre. Organic farming with some biodynamic insights.
This Brouilly "Gres Roses" is from 70 year-old vines on the sandy hillsides over pink granite subsoils. Hand-harvest, whole-cluster semi-carbonic maceration in cement tanks without addition of yeast or sulphites. Settled in vats followed by 6-8 months aging in old barrels. Bottled unfined, unfiltered and no sulphur added.
