Marcel Richaud was a pioneer in southern Rhone in using organic practices and minimizing So2 in his wines early 70's in the village of Cairanne.
His wine are always big (classical of the area) but somehow always balanced and still with a great acidity as a backbone. Marcel is very experienced and always blends in different grape varieties to make this wine a delight.
This Cotes du Rhone is from Marcel's closest vineyards to the River banks, planted on lots of pebbles making a fruity wine. It's a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Mourvedre and Counoise. An appealing nose of black cherries, plums underlined with lots of spices like sichuan pepper with a touch of garrigue herbs (thym, Rosemary, oregano) and violets !
It's a delicious red, with an incredible freshness. Highly recommended !
